Walk-A-Thon Details

Why are we doing a Walk-A-Thon?
Our children will enjoy their time outside, get exercise, and raise money to help their school.  This money will help provide funds to pay for educational needs and school enrichment.

How will students participate?
Each student will raise funds by asking family and friends to sponsor them with a donation.  Students will collect the money in the envelope provided and return it to school by September 12th.

How are donations made?
Students will ask family, friends, neighbors if they would like to make a donation to the Walk A Thon.  Donations can be in the form of cash, check or credit card.  New this year, credit card donations can be made on the PTO’s website (www.creeksidecardinals.org).  When making an online credit card donation please be sure to include the students name, grade, and teacher.

How can adults volunteer to participate?
We need many volunteers to help make this a success.  Volunteers are needed to help monitor and motivate the children, hand out snacks, etc.  Please fill out the enclosed volunteer sheet!

What happens on the day of the event?
On the day of the event each class will walk for 30 minutes around the school grounds on a designated route.  Upon completion they will receive a snack and a drink.

Can students earn prizes?
Yes!  Students and classes will also have an opportunity to earn a number of prizes based on their participation in the Walk-A-Thon.

What will happen if we don’t reach our goal?
If our goal is not met, we will need to have additional fundraisers or cut programs from the PTO budget.
